Certainty is not a Prediction

Too many people are stuck in their past and this prevents them from being successful.

Just so you know, we all have things in our past that we’re not proud of, and there’s nothing we can do to change that.

Would you agree?

But why, as human beings, do we tend to hold on to the past? Why is it so difficult to let go of the experiences that have caused us so much pain and suffering?

The answer is Certainty.

That old shoe is worn out but you still think it fits so well. The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. What you are used to is so much easier than what you don’t know. It’s a human trait based on a cognitive bias.

But it’s not true.

Your past does not determine your future unless you let it.

Let me share a secret with you. One of that biggest secrets that I have learned to n my life.

Certainty is a feeling. It’s not a prediction. It’s not real. We make it real by our ability to commit to what will happen next. Our conviction in making the future happens creates certainty. Hold your opinions strongly until you find a better way , then let them. go and adopt new opinions. This is the secret to life. Recognise that certainty does not exists except in your convictions. In your ability and desire to make it happen. This is true leadership.

You really don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. You can only ask the question, “Am I certain?”

Leaders act with certainty. They don’t know the future either, but their passion and enthusiasm carries people forward and makes things happen. It’s certain in their mind only because the picture, the vision is clear and focussed and bright.

What are you certain about? Research it. Make it more real. Make it compelling and focussed and big and bright. And then you can make it happen.

Certainty exists. Make it happen.

Believe in yourself.
