Why Learn NLP?
The people you meet every day are dealing with a kind of stress that didn't exist ten years ago, a collapse of certainty about work, identity, and the future, and most practitioners are trying to meet that with tools that were never designed for it.
The truth is that most of what practitioners are trained to do works at the level of behaviour, which is the part of a person's experience they can already see and describe. But behaviour is driven by beliefs, and beliefs are driven by values, and underneath all of that is how a person sees themselves, their identity, and that whole architecture is unconscious.
It is the 93% your client cannot access on their own. When you change that, behaviour changes automatically. When you don't, you can work on the behaviour for years and the pattern keeps coming back.
NLP is the only framework I know that works directly at that level. Not around it, not in spite of it, but at it. The tools you learn on the Practitioner Certification are designed specifically to work with the unconscious mind, to change how a person sees themselves, what they believe is possible, and what they feel entitled to go after. That is what creates lasting change. And once you have those tools, you cannot unsee how they work. Every conversation you have, every client you sit with, changes.
Master Your Unconscious Mind with NLP
Micheal Colhoun — NLP Trainer, Belfast
NLP Practitioner Certification Belfast: I've been teaching NLP certifications since 2005. Here's what I've learned.
I have been teaching NLP certifications since 2005. I have trained hundreds of people across healthcare, business, education, and sport. What I see consistently is that the practitioners who get the best results for their clients are not necessarily the ones with the most qualifications or the most experience. They are the ones who understand how change actually happens. That understanding is what this training gives you.
Before you arrive
Before the Practitioner Certification begins, I ask everyone to read The Pillars of Transformation. It is a short book, a pocket edition available on Amazon for a couple of pounds, and I wrote it because I kept repeating the same foundational ideas in every one-on-one session I ran: the laws that govern how consequences are created, how perception shapes everything a person sees, how the mind and body function as a single coherent system rather than two things in occasional contact. Eventually it made more sense to write it down once and send people in with that grounding already in place. When you arrive at the training having read it, you are not just learning a process, you understand why the process works, at the level where it actually works.
Four days in Belfast
The training runs over four full days, in person, in Belfast, and the reason it is not online or modular or self-paced is straightforward: NLP is not something you can learn by watching it. You learn it by doing it with other people, in real time, with all the unpredictability that real people bring. Each day builds on the last. By the end of it you have not just covered the curriculum, you have practised it on real problems with real responses, and you have felt it work on yourself as well as on others. That experience is not something you can replicate at a screen and it is the reason graduates consistently describe the four days as among the most valuable they have spent on their own development.
This is not a shortened version of the traditional seven-day NLP training. It is an evolution of it. In the eight weeks before you arrive in Belfast, you join our weekly Mindset Mastery community calls, every Thursday at 7pm, where we work through the home study material together and you get direct feedback on how the theory applies to your own situation. By the time you walk into the room on day one, you have already been doing the work. You are not starting from zero alongside everyone else; you are arriving at the same level as everyone else, which means the four days in person can go further, faster, and deeper than a traditional seven-day format ever could.
Where to begin
Before any of that, the place to start is the NLP Foundations course. It is a structured home study programme that gives you the grounding you need to make sense of everything that follows: the core concepts, the language of NLP, and the framework of how change actually works. The weekly Mindset Mastery calls build on that foundation, and so does the Practitioner Certification. If you are serious about learning NLP properly, that is where the journey begins.
Who this training is for
The practitioners who come through this training use it in very different ways. Some integrate the tools directly into their existing practice and find that the results they are getting with clients improve in ways they did not expect, and fairly quickly. Some use it to shift something in themselves first, a pattern they have been managing rather than resolving, and find that changes the quality of everything else they do. Some come because they want to understand the framework behind the coaching or counselling approaches they already use, and they leave with a model that explains not just what they are doing but why some clients move and others do not. Whatever brings you in, the certification gives you a complete, internationally recognised qualification in NLP at Practitioner level, accredited by the IFNLP, the professional standards body for NLP training worldwide. It is a credential that means something, because the training it represents is a training that means something.
If you are still reading at this point, you are probably already further along in this decision than you think. The people who come to this training are not people who woke up one morning and decided on a whim to do an NLP course. They are practitioners who have been watching something in their work that is not quite resolving, or people who understand enough about how the mind works to know there is more to understand, or both. If that is where you are, the next step is to read the full certification page, which covers the curriculum, the schedule, the investment, and everything else you need to make the decision properly. And if you have questions that the page does not answer, get in touch. I read every message personally and I am happy to talk it through.
