The Lead Representation System is the representation system a person uses to access memories — it is the internal system that fires first when they begin to recall or process an experience.
The Lead System is important in strategy elicitation. When observing eye accessing cues, it may appear that every strategy a person runs begins with Visual Recall. However, this may simply reflect their Lead Representation System accessing the memory — not necessarily that the strategy itself is primarily Visual.
Distinguishing between the Lead System and the Primary Representation System is a key skill for accurate strategy elicitation.
